Necessary tools:
- Paint brush, paint roller, paint tray, masking tape, plastic bags, ladder, broom, sandpaper, drill (if needed), paint sprayer (if needed).
- Primer, topcoat, detergent, filler (if needed), waterproof paint (if the wall is moldy).
Personal protection:
- Mask, goggles, gloves, protective clothing.
Surface preparation:
- Cleaning: Remove all furniture, cover immovable objects with plastic tarps.
- Cleaning: Remove dust and cobwebs from the wall with a broom or vacuum cleaner.
- Repair: Treat cracks and holes with specialized putty.
- Scrape off old paint: Use a trowel or scraper to completely remove the old paint, especially the peeling parts.
- Treat mold: If the wall is moldy, use fungicide and waterproof paint before painting.
